# Online Status

## Update Status

Toggle your status from the bottom-left of the toolbar:

1. Select your **avatar**
2. In the menu, toggle "Set as" to **Online** or **Away**

## Effects of Status

When a user is **online**, their avatar badge is green. If they're a live agent, they will be eligible for [conversation assignments](https://documentation.proto.cx/docs/settings/teamspaces/chat-assignment) coming in.

When a user is **away**, their avatar badge is orange and they are omitted from receiving new chats.
