# Zendesk

Integrating Zendesk lets AI agents [transfer chats](/docs/modules/ai-agents/workflows-and-actions/external-handoff.md) to your helpdesk personnel in Zendesk.

In the agent's **Publish** tab, create a Zendesk channel or select an existing one to open its settings.

## Basic settings

| Setting  | Description                                   |
| -------- | --------------------------------------------- |
| **Name** | The internal name of the Zendesk integration. |
| **Icon** | A custom avatar for the integration.          |

Select **Save** to confirm edits.

## Connect to Zendesk

Four values are required from your Zendesk account, set in the **Configuration** accordion:

| Value                                  | Where to find it                                                                         |
| -------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **App ID**, **Key ID**, **Secret Key** | Zendesk **Admin Center → Apps and integrations → Conversations integrations → API Keys** |
| **Shared secret**                      | **Admin Center → Apps and integrations → Conversations integrations → Details**          |

Then copy Proto's **Webhook URL** and paste it into Zendesk's **Webhook endpoint URL**, found in **Admin Center → Apps and integrations → Conversations integrations → Create integration → Webhook**.
