# Online Status

## Update status

1. Select your **avatar** in the bottom-left of the toolbar.
2. In the menu, toggle "Set as" to **Online** or **Away**.

## Effects of status

| Status     | Badge  | Effect                                                                                         |
| ---------- | ------ | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Online** | Green  | Live agents are eligible for [chat assignments](/docs/settings/teamspaces/chat-assignment.md). |
| **Away**   | Orange | Omitted from receiving new chat assignments.                                                   |
